About Value Analysis

How to insert the Value Analysis component

The Value Analysis template can be used to start new projects or to extend existing projects. Please read chapter "The Templates" to learn more about how to start new projects.

In order to extend your project:

  1. 1
Activate the Home Ribbon Home Ribbon
  2. 2
Click the Add Tool button on the Home ribbon
  3. 3
Click the Value Analysis icon in the template catalog

In order to find the Value Analysis component within the template catalog, you have to choose a cycle name on the first line of the screen and a phase name at the left of the screen. The Value Analysis component is located in this cycle/phase combinations:

    .

Matrix of Design Elements (System Elements) to Functions. Documents contribution of Design Elements to Functions.

    Worksheets

    The Bill of Materials Worksheet

The Bill of Materials is a table showing different kinds of costs for each component or part. The parts in the list depend on the concept selected in the left upper corner of the worksheet. All calculations and results relate to the selected concept. For editing and analyzing the different types of costs, 3 sub-worksheets are provided:

    • Concept Costs: Zeigt die unterschiedlichen Kostenarten für jedes Konzept
    • DE Target Costs: A table of target costs related to the available or used components and parts
    • FR Target Costs: A table of target costs related to the product functions implemented by the design elements. The values in this table are calculated from the design elements target costs table using the QFD3 (Design Elements vs. Functional Requirements) matrix.
