Process-Analysis

Thumbnail Image 1

Document process flow, optionally adding a characteristics matrix and a control plan. Add process parameters, inputs and outputs per process step for root cause analysis or process optimization. Structure can be added in form of process functions as defined by the AIAG/VDA FMEA Handbook, for example using 4M or 6M (or “4MHE”: Machine, Material, Method, Measurement, Human, Environment) per process step.

This Template Provides the Following Worksheets:

  1. 1
SIPOC: use to determine process scope.
  2. 2
Process Flow Diagram (PFD): use to document process flow. Structure and parameters can be added under each process step.
  3. 3
Characteristics Matrix: used to document correlation between process steps and/or parameters on one side and key process output variables (KPOVs, or design characteristics) on the other side. The correct heuristics matrix can be used for design of experiments (DOE) planning, identification of high-risk process steps in preparation for PFMEA As well As for documenting and verifying coverage of KPOVs by process controls.
  4. 4
Control Plan: used to develop a process control plan from the structure provided by PFD and characteristics matrix. What to Add or Combine:
  5. 5
System analysis: Add system analysis to identify system elements and their characteristics providing input for the characteristics matrix so.
