When and Why?

The worksheet is a combination of several trees and matrices:

  1. 1
This is the Functional Requirements tree.
  2. 2
At the left you can find the importance ratings for the Functional Requirements
  3. 3
This is the DoE Checklist for Functional Requirements. For each experiment (column) set a checkbox if it affects the given CTQ. Use the Insert commands in the Home ribbon to add new experiments to the list above the table
  4. 4
This is the tree of system elements, expanded to the level of the design parameters. Details and importance are shown above.
  5. In this matrix, set a relation if a design parameter (column) has any effect on the CTQ (row). Use the Knowledge button on the Home ribbon to document the knowledge state of each relation you set
  6. This is the DoE Checklist for Design Parameters. For each experiment (row) set a checkbox if it affects the given design parameter (column). The list of experiments is identical to the one used for the CTQs
  7. This is the list of Noise Factors from the P-Diagram. Again, details are located above.
  8. In this matrix, define the cause-effect-relations between noise factors and CTQs
  9. This is the checklist for matching noise factors to experiments
  10. Here you can find the Signal Factors from the P-Diagram with importance ratings and details.
  11. Edit effects that signal factors have on CTQs
  12. Set a checkbox, if a signal factor is checked by an experiment
